My sophomore year, she transferred to the University of Tampa, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in 2018. Lopez was a member of the university’s radio station and newspaper while at UT.
She grew up in Rochester, New York, and it was there that I developed an early interest in storytelling. It all started with her grandparents and Lopez watching 13WHAM, our favorite local news show. Her desire of interning at that station came true in 2018, and she gained experience in editing, interviewing, and story writing.
