JonTron is an American YouTuber, comedian and media reviewer, he is known for his web series Jontron. He gives his reviews on his comical and retrospective manner mostly on odd and old video games, and movies.

Prior to starting his channel in 2010, Jafari started a vlogging channel in 2006 that was inactive in 2007.
He posted a two-part review of Daikatana, the first game in his JonTron series, for the Nintendo 64. Jafari reviews a single game as well as games from a specific theme, franchise, or genre in each episode of JonTron.
He is usually accompanied by Jacques, his green-cheeked parakeet with a robotic voice. Jafari usually incorporates sketch comedy elements into these episodes to show his reactions to the video game he is reviewing.
Jafari has reviewed many video game adaptations of popular franchises such as Hercules, Barbie, Home Alone, Star Wars, and Conan the Barbarian, as well as lesser-known NES games such as Monster Party and Takeshi’s Challenge. He has also reviewed a number of unlicensed games, most notably those based on the Pokémon franchise, as well as the 1997 film Titanic and Disney films.
According to Jafari, in an episode of Game Grumps, JonTron rose to prominence after a Reddit post featuring Jafari’s review of the Super Nintendo Entertainment System game DinoCity ranked first on the site.
“Mixing a large dollop of offbeat humour with a light sprinkle of insightful commentary, JonTron’s reviews of old games have inspired many imitators, but none have proven to be more hilarious,” said Paul Tamburro of CraveOnline in 2013. Time magazine named JonTron the seventh most searched Internet meme on Google in 2015.

Jafari met animator Arin “Egoraptor” Hanson, a fan of his since the early 2000s, when the latter messaged him on YouTube shortly after his DinoCity review became popular. The two eventually became close friends, and in July 2012, Jafari and Hanson announced that they would begin a Let’s Play series titled Game Grumps on both of their channels.
On June 25, 2013, it was announced that Jafari had left Game Grumps to focus on JonTron, and that he had been replaced by Ninja Sex Party singer Dan Avidan on the same day.
