Maryalice Demler is an American journalist, she currently works as a news anchor for WGRZ in Buffalo, New York. She joined the station in September 1993. Demler anchors Channel 2 News at 5:30, 6:00, 10:00, and 11:00.

Every weeknight at 5:00, 6:00, and 11:00 p.m., Demler hosts Channel 2 News “On Your Side” on Buffalo, New York’s WGRZ-TV, an NBC affiliate.
At Channel Two, Maryalice has covered numerous significant live events, including the Olympic Games in Salt Lake City, Utah, and the World Youth Day with Pope John Paul II in Toronto. When Pope Francis was elected and for the Pope John Paul II burial, she also provided updates from Rome, Italy. Maryalice also traveled to Washington, D.C. for the funeral of NBC Political Analyst and Buffalo native Tim Russert, as well as to New York City to provide in-depth coverage of Pope Benedict’s visit.
She was named “Miss New York State” in 1990 and represented the Empire State in the Miss America Pageant. She is a native of North Tonawanda. Demler began her career in broadcasting as one half of the morning radio team “Joe and Maryalice in the Morning” at Buffalo’s WJYE-FM. Prior to starting her broadcasting career, Maryalice directed special initiatives at DeGraff Memorial Hospital and taught French to middle school students.
The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences’ New York Chapter has given two Emmy Awards in the category of broadcasting. In the competitive Crime News category, she won the first award for her in-depth story “Prison and Persistence,” and she also won the award for “News Anchor – On Camera Talent” for a collection of her anchoring and reporting work.
She is the first news anchor from Buffalo to win that esteemed honor. In addition, she has been nominated for more than a dozen New York Emmy Awards and won an Associated Press Award for Best Interview. Maryalice has won numerous honors for her volunteer work in the community, including the Niagara University Alumni Founder’s Award and Business First’s 40 Under 40 Outstanding Community Leaders.
