Richard Rawlings is an American media personality and entrepreneur. He is currently the star of the reality show Fast N’ Loud on Discovery Channel. He is the proprietor franchise Gas Monkey Garage, Bar N’ Grill and Gas Monkey Live music venues in Dallas, Texas.

Richard Rawlings and co-pilot Dennis Collins allegedly broke the 1979 Cannonball Run time of 32 hours and 51 minutes from New York City to Los Angeles in May 2007. They bet rival Jay Riecke that their 2007 Bullrun entry, a black Ferrari 550 modified with extra fuel cells, could beat the time. Their final time was 31 hours and 59 minutes, but this time is still debated because the distance and times do not match.
They were the only pair to beat Rick Cline and Jack May in a Ferrari Dino’s 1975 record, as all other competitors failed to leave and arrive at the correct locations, or took alternate routes that did not follow the original Cannonball Runs of the 1970s. Even their personal heroes, Dave Heinz and Dave Yarborough, who set the 1979 record in their Jaguar XJ-S, left from Darien, Connecticut, rather than Manhattan. Rawlings released his first autobiography, Fast N’ Loud: Blood, Sweat, and Beers, on May 12, 2015.

Rawlings opened Gas Monkey Garage in Dallas in 2002 and sold Lincoln Press in 2004. Customers from all over the world visit the shop to have classic and hot-rod cars customized. The business was the focus of the Discovery Channel series Fast N’ Loud from 2012 to 2020.
Since 2017, Rawlings has co-hosted the Discovery Channel show Garage Rehab, which is about renovating struggling automotive shops, with co-hosts Russell Holmes and Chris Stephens. In 2015, he pitched the idea to the network.
