Kelsey Wingert Injury
During a game between the Colorado Rockies and the San Francisco Giants, the AT&T Sportsnet reporter was smacked in the face. Austin Slater slugged a 95 mph fastball right out of the screws in the ninth inning of the game. The foul shot sailed clean down the line and into the press box.
“Kelsey, are you okay?” a colleague on commentary inquired.
Kelsey, who was stationed at the Rockies’ dugout’s far end, had taken the ball right to his head as it flew away from the bat at roughly 100 miles per hour. The reporter exited the dugout and gave a thumbs up to onlookers before heading to the hospital. She had a CT scan and stitches to repair the wound on her forehead, which was right in the middle.
Kelsey took to Twitter following her five-hour A&E stay to confirm she was okay, and she shared a horrific scar.
