Wendy Corona is an American journalist, she is currently working at Channel 2 Action News. She joined the station in January 2013. Corona anchors the Monday through Friday at 4 pm and also does daily reports throughout the metro.

Wendy previously worked at WFAA in Dallas, Texas, before relocating to Atlanta. Wendy also worked as an evening anchor for KPRC in Houston, Texas. Wendy was the morning anchor at Local 10, Miami’s ABC affiliate. Her career in broadcasting began as a reporter in Yuma, Arizona followed by El Paso, Texas and Orlando, Florida.
Wendy has been present at many significant news events, beginning with the O.J. Simpson murder trial when she was in college.
She was working in Florida at the time when everyone’s attention was focused on the contested 2000 presidential election, its “hanging chads,” and the Florida connections to the 9/11 terrorist attacks. A record number of hurricanes made landfall in South Florida during her time there.
She is most proud of her early work as a reporter, which included reuniting an African refugee with long-lost family members in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and winning an Emmy Award at WSB for reporting on people abusing the industry’s lax regulation.
Wendy had the pleasure of working with Robin Roberts in Miami to support Women’s Heart Health initiatives, and she appeared on Good Morning America to raise awareness of the issue.
Wendy has hosted a number of special event broadcasts, ranging from sporting to philanthropic galas, and she enjoys connecting with the community in this way. She serves on the board of Cristo Rey Atlanta Jesuit High School, which will have its first graduating class in Georgia in May 2018. Wendy is particularly interested in women’s health, education, literacy projects, and domestic violence.
