She is very efficient in her work expanding her involvement in burlesque by establishing Dannie Diesel’s Bump ‘n’ Grind Academy in Chicago’s Rogers Park neighborhood, offering instruction in the art of burlesque performance.

Colby was deeply involved in the world of performance, initially with a female roller derby team named the Big Mouth Mickies, which she owned and actively participated in for three years. However, due to injuries, she eventually had to step away from the sport.
Her interest in performance continued to evolve when she attended a burlesque show in Chicago featuring Margaret Cho and Satan’s Angel. Inspired by the art form, Colby decided to pursue a career as a burlesque dancer.
Upon returning to the Quad Cities area in Iowa, she founded the professional burlesque troupe Burlesque Le Moustache, comprising nine performers, including herself, adopting the stage name Dannie Diesel. They toured across eastern Iowa and western Illinois, showcasing their talents.
