Malcolm Gladwell is a Canadian journalist and author, he is currently working as a staff writer for the New yorker. He is also known for being the author of several books five being on New york Best Sellers List.

Gladwell’s grades were insufficient for graduate school, so he decided to pursue a career in advertising. After being turned down by every advertising agency he applied to, he took a job as a journalist at the conservative magazine The American Spectator and relocated to Indiana. He later wrote for Sun Myung Moon’s Unification Church’s conservative magazine, Insight on the News.
Gladwell began covering business and science for The Washington Post in 1987, where he remained until 1996. Gladwell notes in a personal elucidation of the 10,000-hour rule popularized in Outliers, “I was a shambles at first, but by the end, I felt like an expert. It took ten years—exactly ten years.”
She joined The New Yorker in 1996 with the intention of “mining current academic research for insights, theories, direction, or inspiration.” His first assignment was to write a fashion piece. Gladwell rose to prominence with two New Yorker articles published in 1996: “The Tipping Point” and “The Coolhunt.”
Gladwell’s first book, The Tipping Point, was based on these two pieces, for which he received a $1 million advance. He is still writing for The New Yorker. Gladwell also contributed to Grantland, a sports journalism website founded by former ESPN columnist Bill Simmons.
Gladwell will have seven books published by the time The Bomber Mafia: A Dream, a Temptation, and the Longest Night of the Second World War is released in April 2021. When asked about his writing process, he stated: “I’m interested in two things at the same time. One is that I want to collect interesting stories, and the other is that I want to collect interesting research. I’m looking for instances where they intersect “.
