Spero Dedes is an American sportscaster, he is known for working at CBS Sports calling NBA, NFL, and college basketball. Before joining CBS he worked as a radio play-by-play announcer for the Los Angeles Lakers and New York Knicks.

Dedes started out as a reporter for the New York Jets at WFAN Radio in New York, where he also handled “20/20” updates. Additionally in 2001, he served as the New Jersey Gladiators’ radio announcer for the Arena Football League.
Dedes was stationed in New York before moving to Los Angeles to work for the Lakers and NFL Network, serving as a play-by-play announcer and host for both NBA-TV and the regional sports network, YES, which is owned and run by the New York Yankees.
In addition, Dedes’ vast portfolio include play-by-play duties for the NFL on FOX, NCAA football and basketball on Westwood One, and the 2004 Summer Olympics on NBC. Dedes was based in Athens at the time and worked as a reporter and play-by-play announcer. From 2006 to 2016, Dedes called play-by-play on Monday nights during the NFL season as the host of NFL Network’s Total Access.
In 2010, Dedes began working as a play-by-play announcer for the CBS Television Network’s coverage of THE NFL ON CBS and the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship. In addition, he now announces regular-season college basketball for CBS Sports, which started in the 2009–10 season, nine years after he worked his first play-by-play job for the Network in 2004.
Dedes also calls play-by-play for Turner Sports’ NBA coverage and acts as the Los Angeles Chargers’ preseason television voice. Dedes served as the Los Angeles Lakers’ radio announcer for six seasons, serving as the voice of the team throughout its 2009–10 championship run. Jeremy Lin’s meteoric rise in early 2012, “Linsanity,” and the New York Knicks’ journey to two playoff berths were all covered by him during his three unforgettable years as the team’s radio and television voice after he came home in 2011.
Since 2015, he has provided play-by-play commentary for Turner Sports’ coverage of the NBA. And starting in 2017, he has been announcing a few NCAA men’s basketball games for Westwood One Radio.
Dedes is the latest in a long series of outstanding sports broadcasters created by Fordham University’s WFUV Radio, which dates back to the late 1940s and the renowned Vin Scully, the Brooklyn/Los Angeles Dodgers’ announcer. He had called games for the country’s top radio network and three of the four major television networks by the time he was 31 years old.
