Makori worked as a reporter for CNN Money and as an anchor and reporter for Bloomberg TV before joining CGTN.
She began her career with Bloomberg TV in 2005 as the World and National news anchor during the morning prime time programs. She also reported and produced the arts and culture show “Muse” and later served as the lead anchor for US business and finance during the Asian opening bell hours.
Makori was one of the main anchors and producers for SABC Africa Television, based in Johannesburg, South Africa and broadcasting throughout the African continent, before joining Bloomberg TV and moving to New York in 2005.
She has conducted interviews with heads of state, CEOs of Fortune 500 companies, and other political, business, and entertainment leaders. Makori, who was born in Israel, raised in South Africa, and is now a proud American citizen, speaks five languages and has a truly global perspective.
Makori also has Wall Street experience, having obtained her FINRA financial adviser license (Series 7) and working for The Beryl Consulting Group, GFI, and now Context Capital Partners and Context Summits.
Her achievements include being named Harambee African Reporter of the Year for her work on micro-lending enterprises. She was also named one of Cosmopolitan magazine’s (South African Edition) “30 Most Outstanding Women” and one of FHM magazine’s “Sexiest Women in the World” (South African Edition).
