Abby Ham Biography
Abby Ham is an American journalist, she is known for working at WBIR as a news anchor. Ham anchors the morning news on 10News Today and Mornings with Fox43. Before joining the station she worked at WTAP for more than two years.

Ham began her career at WTAP in Parkersburg, Ohio, as anchor and producer of the 5:00 show. She was promoted to evening anchor and 11:00 producer after a year. WTAP was the ideal place for her to begin her journalism career.
During his time there, Ham learned how to shoot and edit video, as well as report, anchor, and produce. She was also heavily involved in the 2004 presidential campaign between then-President George W. Bush and Senator John Kerry.
She was even given the opportunity to interview Democratic Vice Presidential candidate John Edwards at the time. During his time there, Ham received several Associated Press awards for anchoring and reporting.
She worked for WTAP for over two years before moving to Knoxville to work as a weekend anchor/reporter for WBIR. After a few months, Ham was promoted to 10News Today’s morning anchor. Ham covered a variety of stories, including the fire at McClung Warehouses. The coverage received a regional Emmy nomination.
She was given the opportunity to anchor the morning newscast in Cleveland, Ohio, in 2007. While Ham was disappointed to be leaving, she was excited about the opportunity at WKYC. She had the opportunity to report on the 2008 presidential election while in Cleveland, specifically the Cleveland debate between Democratic Presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. Ham also volunteered for organizations such as JDRF, Ronald McDonald House, and Dress for Success.
It was time to return home in 2009. She missed her family and this lovely area and couldn’t wait to get back. WBIR was gracious enough to restore my former position as anchor of 10News Today.
Her anchor duties were expanded slightly. They began a 4:30 a.m. newscast in 2010, and in 2011, they partnered with Fox 43 to launch a two-hour morning show, Mornings with Fox 43, from 7-9 a.m. She also produces Your Stories, a weekly feature report on East Tennessee’s interesting people and places.
Every year, Ham participated in the Buddy’s Race Against Cancer to benefit the Thompson Cancer Survival Center and enjoyed volunteering for other local charitable organizations.
