She previously worked as a reporter for WHDH-TV, Boston’s NBC affiliate, where she reported live from Newtown, Conn., just hours after the deadly Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting. She also helped cover the Boston Marathon bombings and the subsequent manhunt for the two terror suspects for WHDH.
Prior to joining WHDH, Field worked as an anchor at WRGB in Albany, New York, before being promoted to political reporter. She also served as the station’s Capitol correspondent, covering Governor Andrew Cuomo’s administration, including the landmark vote to legalize same-sex marriage.
Field also worked for WWNY TV 7, the CBS affiliate in northern New York and southeast Ontario, as a general assignment reporter and anchor of the 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. newscasts.
Since joining CNN, Field has contributed to the network’s coverage of the West Virginia chemical spill, the deadly Metro-North train derailment, and the criminal investigation into the death of actor Phillip Seymour Hoffman. Field has recently covered the negotiations for the sale of the Los Angeles Clippers as well as the challenges surrounding the search for Malaysia Airlines Flight 370.
