Alice Gainer Biography
Alice Gainer is an American journalist, she is currently working at WCBS as a reporter and news anchor. She joined the station in 2013, before working for Fox 5, she was a reporter for News 12 New Jersey’s weekday morning show and weekend morning anchor.

Gainer worked in radio news at MetroNetworks’ WABC, WOR, and Air America before beginning her career on television.
Gainer is a reporter who has won eight New York Emmy awards, including ones for “Crime News,” “Entertainment News,” and “Spot News,” to mention a few. More than a dozen times, she has received nominations for “LIVE Reporter,” “Health/Science News,” “Spot News,” and “Entertainment News.”
A 2019 New York State Broadcasters Association Award for “Outstanding Spot News,” 1st Place Associated Press accolades, and a PRNDI award are among the many honors.
Gainer attended Fordham University in the Bronx, New York, and worked for NPR affiliate WFUV 90.7FM there after graduating. She received a “Gracie” — the Gracie Allen award — for her anchoring while still a college student from the American Women In Radio And Television.
She is honored to represent the station for a number of charities, including The New York Jets Tackle Bullying, Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, and the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
