Andraya Carter is a well-known American analyst and reporter. She is currently working at  ESPN/SEC Network covering college basketball. Andraya was also a former player of Tennessee Lady Volunteers Basketball.

Carter was born in the Georgia town of Flowery Branch. She attended Buford High School and played basketball for famed coach Gene Durden, who also taught her multimedia presentations class. She was a key part of the Lady Wolves’ three consecutive Class 2A state championships, averaging 13 points per game over that span. Due to injuries, she was forced to miss her final year.

Despite this, espnW.com ranked her as the No. 21 recruit in the country for the 2012 class, and she accepted a scholarship to play for the University of Tennessee Women’s Basketball Team. Prior to joining the Lady Vols, she was a fan of coach Pat Summitt and the Lady Vols. Summitt signed her as one of the last players.  Carter appeared in five games during the 2012–13 season before being injured and redshirted.

She was named to the SEC All-Freshmen Team in 2013–14, and in 2014–15, she led the conference in thefts with 80. After her redshirt junior season in 2015–16, she was forced to retire due to mounting ailments, putting an end to her hopes of playing in the WNBA. Carter had a 6.4 point per game average and 199 steals during her time with the Vols.

She was seeking for something to do when her basketball career ended when she was approached by the “Vol For Life” production team on campus about announcing Tennessee basketball games online for ESPN3 in 2016. Carter was handed some games and a seasonal contract the following season. She also went to LaChina Robinson’s women’s media boot camp. She worked as an analyst for the NBA G League. She’s also an Orange Theory instructor.
