In 2000, Goerner began her broadcasting career in Windsor, Ontario, where she was born and bred. She was an anchor and reporter for AM800 CKLW. After that, she moved on to work for Bell’s three other London radio stations as the Weekend Newscaster for News Talk Radio 1290 CJBK in London.
Goerner transitioned to television in 2002 when she became a Videographer/Anchor for The New WI. Annette joined A-News Ottawa in 2006 and has worked as a video journalist, a weekend news anchor, and currently a news anchor for CTV Morning Live.
Goerner has covered a number of elections as well as local and national politics.
She has explored issues like crime and crack use in Ottawa in depth, taking stories beyond the headlines. Additionally, she created and emceed special programs on touchy subjects like child sex abuse and sports-related concussions.
She visited the Philippines in 2011 to conduct reporting on the work being done by World Vision. Every morning, Annette adds a depth of expertise and experience to the program, keeping viewers in Ottawa and the Valley informed and entertained.
