Céline Galipeau is a Canadian journalist, she is currently working at Radio-Canada as a news anchor. She is also known for being the weekday anchor for Le Téléjournal.

She studied English literature at the Al-Ahliyya Amman University in Jordan in 1976 and political science at Birzeit University.

Galipeau moved to Toronto as a reporter for CBC and Radio-Canada in 1985, after a brief stint in private television and radio. She left for Montreal in 1987. She returned to Toronto in 1989 to work as a national reporter. She moved to London as a correspondent in 1992.
She later moved to Moscow, where she covered Boris Yeltsin and the Chechen war. She relocated to Paris in 1997. She began working as a foreign correspondent in Beijing in 2001. Galipeau received a Gemini Award for her reporting from Moscow.
She returned to Canada in 2003, where she worked as a weekend anchor for Le Téléjournal. After Bernard Derome retired in December 2008, she took over as the program’s weekday anchor.

Céline Galipeau has worked for Radio-Canada since 1984 and has received several awards over the years, including the Amnesty International journalism award in 1995 for a series of reports on the status of women, and the Raymond-Charette award, which recognizes the exemplary quality of French in electronic journalism. In 2009, she was named an Officer of the National Order of Quebec and named one of Canada’s 100 most influential women by the Women’s Executive Network and the Globe and Mail.
In 2011 and 2012, she was named the most trustworthy person in Quebec by Reader’s Digest Selection magazine’s Palmarès de latrust survey. In 2013, she was appointed an Officer of the Order of Canada.
