Chelsea Ambriz is an American journalist, she is known for working at NBC6 as a meteorologist. Before she joined the station she worked at WeatherNation in Denver for three years as their meteorologist. Ambriz joined NBC6 in August 2022.

Her brother inspired Ambriz to pursue a career as a meteorologist. He has always been interested in science, and as he grew older, he grew to appreciate it even more. An AP environmental science class in high school solidified her decision to pursue a career in science.
She joined the NBC6 First Alert Weather team in August 2022 as a weekend morning meteorologist and climate change reporter. She worked as a meteorologist at WeatherNation in Denver, Colorado for three years before joining NBC6.
Ambriz is fascinated by the ever-changing patterns of the atmosphere, which led her to conduct extensive severe weather research for the Red Cross during her undergraduate studies. Chelsea previously worked at WSAZ in West Virginia and WBBJ in West Tennessee before joining WeatherNation.
She didn’t commit to a career in broadcasting until he was in college. She enjoyed math and science and chose a major that would allow her to pursue a career in the STEM field.
Ambriz was raised in Indianapolis, Indiana. Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, awarded her a Bachelor of Science in Atmospheric Science and a Certificate in Global Entrepreneurship and Innovation.
She earned her Master of Science in Environmental Policy and Management from the University of Denver in Colorado, with a concentration in Energy and Sustainability.
Ambriz enjoys living in South Florida and is a member of the Junior League of Miami, where she volunteers at a women’s shelter, a food bank, and organizes community fundraisers.
