Deborah Knight Biography
Deborah Knight is an Australian journalist, news presenter and radio host. She is currently working at 2GB as a radio presenter, and host for A Current Affair. Prior to joining the network she worked as a co-host of the Nine Network’s Today and presented Nine News Sydney.

She started her media career working for the Wagga Wagga radio station 2WG, moved to Sydney’s Mix 106.5, and subsequently accepted a job with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. Later, she relocated to Network 10, where she was named the US reporter for 10 News First in 2001. During that time, she covered significant global events as the September 11 attacks.
She replaced Jessica Rowe as co-host of the flagship Sydney bulletin in January 2006 after returning to Australia, and she has since served as a regular stand-in presenter on the network’s national late-night news bulletin. Sandra Sully took over Knight’s duties as the host of Network Ten’s Ten News at Five in Sydney in October 2011.
Knight joined the Nine Network in December 2011 and took Alicia Gorey’s place as Weekend Today’s and Today’s Monday news presenter. She took over for Leila McKinnon as co-host of Weekend Today in February 2015.
She took over for Georgie Gardner, who had taken over for Lisa Wilkinson on Today, as the Friday and Saturday night host of Nine News Sydney in December 2017. Additionally, it was revealed that Allison Langdon would take over for Knight on Weekend Today. On Today, Today Extra, A Current Affair, and Nine News Sydney, Knight has filled in as a presenter.
Knight was officially announced as Karl Stefanovic’s replacement as the new co-host of the Nine Network’s morning show Today in January 2019. The Nine Network announced in November 2019 that Knight will be replaced as Today’s co-host by Karl Stefanovic, who would return to the program in January 2020 along with Weekend Today co-host and 60 Minutes reporter Allison Langdon. As of January 13, 2020, Knight will host Afternoons on 2GB in place of Steve Price, it was confirmed in December 2019.
