In 2016, Lada began working as a features reporter for College GameDay and as a host for College Football Live. She has contributed a number of noteworthy pieces to GameDay, including the Sports Emmy-nominated “UP Syndrome” about Alabama coach Nick Saban and Tuscaloosa resident Walt Gary. “Heart of a Tiger,” about the connection between Auburn and LSU families through organ donation, and “Texas Strong,” about former Bevo handler Cuyler Duncan at the University of Texas, both won College Sports Media honors for Outstanding Sports Feature.
For the E:60-produced documentary “Hilinski’s Hope,” about South Carolina quarterback Ryan Hilinski and how the heartbreaking loss of his brother Tyler influenced his life both on and off the field, Lada won her first Sports Emmy Award in the Outstanding Short Sports Documentary category in 2020. The poem has received a lot of appreciation for its ability to assist people who are dealing with mental illness.
In addition to “UP Syndrome,” Lada’s 2017 SC Featured “Restart,” about a racecar driver’s donated heart helping an Army battle veteran, received a Sports Emmy nomination. Lada’s work with SC Featured also includes a feature on Chicago Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo, who talks about how he beat cancer when he was 18 years old. She was also the host of the SC Featured audio podcast in the past. Lada’s work on SC Featured has led to other possibilities, including Sunday NFL Countdown and coverage of two Special Olympics World Games — Austria (2017) and Dubai/Abu Dhabi (2019) – for ESPN.
Lada has appeared as a guest host on a number of ESPN Radio and television shows since joining the organization in July 2015, including Baseball Tonight, First Take, and SportsCenter. She worked in ESPN’s Department of Highlights and contributed to ESPN’s digital platforms. She also contributes to SportsCenter and Mike and Mike and developed programming for ESPN Radio’s digital platforms.
