Jill Krop is a Canadian journalist, she is currently working at Global News. Prior to joining the station Krop worked at her home province and worked at CHEK TV in Victoria.

Jill Krop, a journalist who has blazed new trails, started working at CKPG in Prince George in 1986. She was appointed as the first nightly news anchor at STV Regina, now a Global station, just a year later. Krop continued eastward from there to Halifax and ASN. Krop went back to her native province in 1994 and started working at Victoria’s CHEK TV. She relocated to Vancouver three years later and joined the staff of what was then BCTV, now known as Global BC.
Following a year at CFRE in Regina, Krop began her career at CKPG in Prince George. Following that, Krop spent six years hosting important newscasts and Breakfast Television at Atlantic Satellite Network (ASN) in Halifax. ASN presented Krop with a GOLD CANPRO*.
She moved back to British Columbia in 1995, where she worked as a junior news anchor for British Columbia Television, hosting the weekend morning and noon news. She started presenting News Hour Final on Global BC on weeknights in September 2001. After Deborra Hope’s retirement, Krop most recently[when?] served as the host of Unfiltered on BC1 and the anchor of the Early News. In addition to working in television, Krop is a substitute talk show host on CKNW AM-980.
While working for Global, Krop was appointed host of Global News BC 1’s Unfiltered, a program that takes a reflective look at the news and issues generating the most buzz in the province. She transitioned to her present role as BC Regional Director of News, Global News, in early 2015, where she now oversees one of the most vibrant and productive newsrooms in the nation.
When not working in the newspaper, Krop may be found volunteering for a variety of neighborhood organizations, such as the BC Sports Hall of Fame, Coast Mental Health Foundation, BC Children’s Hospital, and Variety telethons, which together earn more than $25 million annually for the neighborhood.
