Joey Diaz is a Cuban-American stand-up comedian, podcaster and actor, he is known for his appearances on The Joe Rogan Experience. He has featured on a number of films such as My Name Is Earl, The Longest Yard, Spider-Man 2, Grudge Match, and The Many Saints of Newark.

Diaz relocated from Colorado to Los Angeles, California in 1995 in an effort to become a successful stand-up comedian. He cited his first divorce as inspiration so he “could come back and make her proud” despite losing touch with their daughter as a result of the split.
On November 4, 2007, Diaz made an appearance in North Bergen to promote fundraising efforts for the basketball team uniforms at North Bergen High School.
It’s Either You or the Priest, Diaz’s stand-up special, was released in April 2012 to commemorate the release of his documentary Where I Got My Balls From. It reached the top spot on iTunes and the Billboard humor charts in the UK and Canada.
A documentary on Diaz’s upbringing in North Bergen, which followed his life and explored how he was inspired by the numerous people who took care of him after his parents’ deaths, was funded in 2011 with $1400 raised from fans on Twitter and Facebook. Where I Got My Balls From was created by Lee Syatt, his podcast co-host and producer, with Diaz’s $2,600 contribution. Syatt recorded a total of six hours of footage. In order to honor people who supported him, Diaz created the movie.
After a CBS talent scout watched Diaz do comedy in Seattle, he offered him a deal to appear in a television pilot as a bartender in the Bronx County series.
With subsequent appearances on Law & Order and his leading parts in Spider-Man 2 (2004) and Taxi (2004), Diaz’s fame rose.After that, Diaz participated in The Longest Yard (2005) as an illegal union organizer.
Felicia Michaels, a stand-up comedian, introduced Diaz to her in 2009 and urged him to co-host a brand-new comedy podcast. Beauty and Da Beast launched in August 2010. Together with producer and sidekick Lee Syatt, Diaz debuted his own podcast, The Church of What’s Happening Now, on September 2, 2012.
