At the age of 15, Katie began working in the media as a part-time radio DJ. She advanced in the radio industry while attending Arizona State University, where she served as the Fiesta Bowl Princess in 1999–2000. She later worked as a morning show radio producer for KISS–FM in Phoenix, Arizona.
In 1998, she participated in an internship program run by the Association for Women in Sports Media at the Sports Fan Radio Network. She relocated to New York City and started working as a reporter for the MTV political program “Choose or Lose” after realizing that morning radio meant getting up at 4 am.
As host and producer of “True Music,” “Zippo Hot Tour,” and “Deadline!” from 2002 until 2012, Katie joined Mark Cuban’s HDNet crew. She hosted and executive produced “The World’s Greatest Tribute Bands” for eight seasons from 2013 to 2017 on the Mark Cuban-founded network, where she earned the CableFAX Program Award for “Best Host – Music” in 2017. Katie also helps to the network in a number of hosting capacities.
In 2017, Katie Daryl started working on The Top Ten Revealed, an original count-down series for AXS TV where she and a rotating panel of experts shine a light on a variety of music-related topics like the best guitar intros, Vietnam-era songs, and more. The show had a six-episode debut on February 11, 2018, then it returned on July 1 with a second cycle of fresh episodes.
