Katie Nolan Biography

Katie Nolan is a well-known American sportscaster, she currently works at as a commentator for Apple TV+’s Friday Night Baseball and also short-form content at NBC Sports. She earned a Sports Emmy Award for Garbage Time in 2016, and she was nominated again in 2019 and 2020 for Always Late.

Nolan was previously the anchor of Garbage Time with Katie Nolan, a weekly Fox Sports 1 show that started on March 15, 2015. Nolan’s April 12, 2015, essay was lauded by Deadspin, which criticized a blog post titled “How to land a husband at the Masters” that surfaced on a fellow Fox reporter’s blog. On May 10, 2016, Garbage Time won a Sports Emmy for ‘Outstanding Social TV Experience.’

Nolan began anchoring NFL Films Presents on Fox Sports 1 in September 2016. The NFL and Fox Sports 1 collaborated to select Nolan as the new host.

Garbage Time would either be retooled from its existing format, or Fox Sports would find a new hosting vehicle for Nolan, it was stated on February 23, 2017. Nolan left Fox Sports in September 2017 after seven months without a show.

Nolan was hired by ESPN on October 4, 2017, and will appear on ESPN studio programs as well as having a digital presence. On October 19, 2017, she made her debut as a guest panelist on ESPN’s Highly Questionable; she has since guest-hosted the show multiple times and appeared with Stugotz on the sister radio show The Dan Le Batard Show. She has stated that she enjoys watching Highly Questionable.

It was revealed in early November 2017 that Nolan would be performing a podcast with ESPN beginning in January, as well as a digital show afterwards. She started as one of the hosts of SportsCenter on Snapchat in November.

Nolan began presenting Sports? with Katie Nolan, a weekly ESPN podcast, in 2018, and it was switched to a bimonthly show in 2020. Her ESPN+ series Always Late with Katie Nolan premiered in September 2018, and a ‘best of the year’ episode broadcast on the main ABC network on December 30, 2018.

In 2019, the show was transferred to ESPN2 and the ESPN app, allowing Nolan and her team to upload more show snippets to social media, as being bound to ESPN+ limited the amount of content they could share.
