During the summer of 2011, she interned for News 12, and her news director offered her a job before she even graduated. She began working for News 12 in November, reporting on weekends until December, when she graduated and became a full-time reporter. She began co-anchoring the First at Five newscast with Richard Rogers a little more than a year later.
After two and a half years, she began anchoring the nightly news with Richard Rogers at 6:00 and 11:00 p.m., as well as presenting in-depth investigative reports.
She has covered breaking news in Augusta ranging from tornadoes, floods, ice storms, and plane disasters to investigative stories on sex trafficking, fraud, cover-ups, and misuse of taxpayer monies by police and other organizations.
She was nominated for an Emmy for her investigation into private security organizations operating illegally at several of our largest local events without proper training or certification. This probe resulted in modifications to local venue policies, a state investigation, and ongoing industry reform.
During her decade in journalism, she has received numerous awards, including Best Anchor/Reporter by the Associated Press, Best Personality by the Georgia Association of Broadcasters, and Best Reporter, Writer, and Anchor by the National Association of Television Arts and Sciences.
