Ricketts, a Winchester native, has always had a fascination with science and has expressed her desire to be a meteorologist since she was a child. Lauryn worked at WHSV in Winchester as the chief meteorologist, as well as at WRIC in Richmond, WTTG and WJLA in Washington, and WMAR and WBFF in Baltimore.
