Before enrolling in the College of Sports Media in Toronto, he first attended St. Francis Xavier University in Nova Scotia after growing up in Thunder Bay. He was able to get his first broadcasting position at Thunder Bay Television in his hometown because to the experience.
After two years of reporting, anchoring, and living comfortably at home, Matt was hired by CTV Ottawa in 2013 to serve as the weekend weather anchor.
