In 2005, Mike started working for WBIR as a morning meteorologist. He continued serving in that capacity until 2014, when he accepted a position with WeatherNation TV in Denver.
Witcher moved to WBIR in May 2017 from Channel 10 News, where he was a weather anchor. From 4:30 to 7 in the morning, he and Russell Biven co-hosted the morning show there.
Prior to working at WBIR-TV, Mike earned experience at KOAA-TV in Pueblo, Colorado, where he handled news photography and editing during the week and worked as a weekend meteorologist. After working there for about 2.5 years, he was offered a more important position at WBIR.
Mike worked for over ten years at 10News Today and FOX 43 News before joining WBIR. Later, he changed jobs and joined Denver, Colorado’s WeatherNationTV.
He loved being at home with his family and trying out for a big stage, but he thought it was important to return to East Tennessee in 2017.
His goal was to become a reporter, but after landing his first position at Colorado’s KJCT-TV, things swiftly altered. Mike was initially hired as a photojournalist and enjoyed writing, editing, and shooting stories, but he soon had the opportunity to cover the weather.
