Paul Allen is an Australian correspondent he currently works at Bloomberg based in Sydney. He regularly co-hosts on Bloomberg Radio and occasionally anchors Daybreak Australia and Daybreak Asia on television.

Allen is the Australia Correspondent for Bloomberg Television, where he appears on a regular basis to discuss topics such as Reserve Bank of Australia decisions, earnings from some of the world’s largest resource firms, and Australia’s continuous political turmoil. He also co-hosts Bloomberg Radio on a regular basis and anchors Daybreak Australia and Daybreak Asia on television on occasion.
He came to Bloomberg with more than 25 years of diversified journalism experience. He began his career as a general and political news reporter in his native New Zealand before moving to the ABC’s Radio Australia to cover the Asia Pacific region.
While based in Kuala Lumpur, he covered various stories for Al Jazeera, including elections in Malaysia, Japan, and Iran, as well as the first television interview with former East Timor President Jose Ramos Horta following his recovery from an assassination attempt.
Allen also worked for ESPN as an executive producer for SportsCenter India, based in Singapore and New Delhi.
Many of the region’s leading newsmakers, including Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison, current and former Australian Treasurers, New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, ANZ CEO Shayne Elliot, Rio Tinto CEO Jean Sebastian Jacques, and BHP CEO Andrew McKenzie, have been interviewed during his time with Bloomberg in Hong Kong and Sydney.
