Stacey Baca is an American journalist, she works on the ABC7 Chicago Witness Team. She has been a steady presence on the weekend morning news. Prior to joining ABC 7 News, she anchored and also reported at KNSD in San Diego.

On the Saturday morning news at Chicago’s top news channel, Baca has consistently appeared. She has been in charge as the news program has grown from a 90-minute Sunday broadcast to a four-hour Saturday and Sunday newscast. She is broadcast every weekend from 5-7 and 8-10 a.m.
Baca is a skilled reporter who covers a variety of topics, including breaking news, crime, education, politics, health, and feature stories. She shed tears with Gold Star families when their military members were slain in Iraq and Afghanistan; she grinned with Cubs supporters outside Wrigley Field when the club won the 2016 World Series; and she has covered the Covid-19 outbreak from almost every aspect.
She hosted and reported for KNSD in San Diego before joining ABC 7 News in 2002. (1999-2002). She reported on a wide range of subjects in California, including the military, politics, criminal justice, and international border disputes between the United States and Mexico. She also went abroad to Sydney, Australia, to cover the 2000 Summer Olympics.
Newspapers were where Baca’s journalism career first began, not television. While she was a student at the University of Colorado in Boulder, Baca worked for the Brighton Standard Blade in her hometown of Brighton, Colorado. The Denver Post employed Baca as a staff writer once he received his college degree. She documented how HIV/AIDS was hurting the Latino population and obtained information regarding the neighborhood militia activities.
The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences and the Associated Press have both given Stacey numerous honors and awards over her career (NATAS). The National Association of Hispanic Journalists and NATAS are both organizations she belongs to.
