Kolber produced the 5:30 p.m. ET sportscast at WTVJ-TV in Miami from 1985 to 1989, winning a local Sports Emmy in 1988. She worked as a specials producer for WPLG-TV in Miami from 1989 to 1990. She joined ESPN’s MNF team in its first year in 2006, following five seasons on ESPN’s Sunday Night Football (2001–05). Kolber was a member of the MNF team that helped the long-running franchise become the most-watched show in cable television history.
Kolber worked with Michele Tafoya on the ABC Sports broadcast of Super Bowl XL in Detroit in 2006 and contributed to the network’s pre-game show. In 2006, she became the first female recipient of the Maxwell Club Sports Broadcaster of the Year Award, and she was named to Sports Business Daily’s list of the top ten favorite sports TV personalities of the previous ten years in 2004.
She hosts ESPN’s NFL Live news and information show year-round, and she has played a key role in ESPN’s comprehensive coverage of the annual NFL Draft, hosting the Day 2 telecast (2004-2006) and leading analysis segments on Day 1.
Kolber returned to ESPN in August 1999, after first joining the network in 1993 as a co-host for ESPN2’s SportsNight, which debuted on October 1, 1993. She went on to work as an anchor on SportsCenter, as a reporter on College GameDay, and as a co-host of the X Games in 1995 and 1996. Kolber also hosted ESPN2’s SportsFigures, which teaches math and physics using sports celebrities and analogies.
