Sylvia Jeffreys is an Australian journalist, she is currently the co-host of Today Extra. Prior to joining the station she worked as a news presenter on the Nine Network’s Today.

Before returning to the newsroom in 2009, she started contributing lifestyle articles to Queensland’s Extra program in 2008. In 2011, Nine News Queensland named Jeffreys as their weekend weather presenter. As a reporter and weather presenter for Nine News Queensland, Sylvia covered a wide range of news events, including the floods in Central Queensland, Brisbane, Ipswich, and Grantham. She went to Tully as well in order to report on the destruction caused by Cyclone Yasi.
Sylvia relocated to Sydney in January 2012 to work as a New South Wales reporter for Today. She worked as a reporter for the program until June 2013, when Natalia Cooper took her position. After that, she worked as a reporter and substitute presenter for Nine News’s Weekend Today, Nine Afternoon News, and Nine Morning News.
Georgie Gardner was replaced as the news presenter on Today by Jeffreys in June 2014. Beginning with the Fast5 Netball World Series in Melbourne in 2016, Jeffreys took over presenting duties for Nine’s netball coverage. She also hosts Nine’s coverage of the 2017-launched Suncorp Super Netball league. She is no longer in charge of the network’s coverage of netball.
It was revealed in December 2018 that Jeffreys would leave Today in 2019 and work on other endeavors. The Nine Network stated in February 2019 that Jeffreys would work in “a few departments,” including A Current Affair.

When Peter was practicing riding a motorcycle off-camera with former Top Gear presenter Richard Hammond and Australian actor Shane Jacobson, who had both just made an appearance on the show, in the Channel Nine parking lot, the tragedy happened.
He received 10 stitches for his damaged leg at Sydney’s Royal North Shore Hospital after being taken there.
