Tom Foreman is an American journalist, he is currently working at CNN. He is an Emmy award-winning journalist whose experience spans more than three decades. Foreman joined the network in 2004 and is based in the network’s Washington, D.C.

By playing a crucial part in the creation of an immersive, 3-D Virtual Studio, which has taken viewers into space to study satellites, onto far-off battlefields to foster better understanding of dangerous conflicts, and into a deep analysis of the 2016 election cycle, Foreman has pioneered much of CNN’s work in new media.
Foreman also publishes a weekly newspaper column, has written more than 1400 open letters to the president on CNN.com, and hosts CNN’s year-in-review special on New Year’s Eve.
While still in high school, Foreman’s reporting career got its start at a small radio station in Alabama. He first worked for WWL-TV in New Orleans, Louisiana, after graduating from college, and WSFA in Montgomery, Alabama. He served as an ABC News traveling reporter from its Denver office for ten years.
Foreman relocated to Washington in 2000 to work as the managing editor of Inside Base Camp and the senior anchor for National Geographic, for which he also received his second Emmy for best interviewer.
