Zoe Ball is a British media personality, she is known for working at BBC Radio as the first female host of the Radio 1 and Radio 2 breakfast shows for the BBC. She featured as host of the BBC Two spin-off show Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two. Ball was also a host for host of BBC Radio 2’s flagship breakfast show.

Ball’s career in television commenced as a researcher for the Cool Cube on BSkyB and as a runner at Granada Television. Subsequently, she spent two years working as a researcher for quiz programs. Her roles expanded to include presenting various shows, such as Playdays for young children, Live & Kicking on BBC One, The Big Breakfast, and The Priory on Channel 4.

In 1995, she made her debut as the host of a show. She consistently presented on Top of the Pops from 1996 to 1998.

Zoe Ball’s radio career began when she co-hosted Radio 1 Breakfast on BBC Radio 1 with Kevin Greening in October 1997, making her the first female DJ to serve as the show’s sole host. Her excessive drinking and hard-partying habits at that time played a role in defining the “ladette culture” of the late 1990s.

In 2009, Ball took over as Ken Bruce’s regular stand-in host for the mid-morning show on BBC Radio 2. As part of a revamp of Radio 2’s weekend programming, she also started anchoring the network’s Saturday breakfast show from 6:00 to 8:00 a.m. on June 6.
