Amber Portwood is an American reality star, she is known for featuring on the reality series on 16 and Pregnant. She was also noted to be prone to domestic violence as she was convicted on crimes against her partner.

She gained notoriety when she was chosen to appear in the 2009 reality television program 16 and Pregnant, which followed the pregnancies and early motherhood of various adolescent girls. When an episode of Portwood’s domestic violence against her spouse, Gary Shirley, was documented, Portwood attracted special public attention in 2010. She was ultimately imprisoned for this and other offences. She continued to abuse Andrew Glennon, her third partner.
Portwood was also cast in the Teen Mom spin-off, which ran for four seasons till its end in 2012. For the fifth season of the program, now known as Teen Mom OG, Portwood, Maci McKinney, Catelynn Baltierra, and Farrah Abraham returned to MTV in March 2015.
