Andrea Grymes is an American media personality, currently working at CBS News New York. She joined the news station as a general assignment reporter in July 2013. Grymes previously worked at WNYW-TV in New York since 2013.

Grymes has covered Pope Francis’ visit to New York, the arrest of the Chelsea and Seaside Heights bombing suspect, the deadly Amtrak crash in Philadelphia, and the Mets’ 2015 playoff run, in addition to politics.
She previously reported for WNYW-TV in New York since March 2013. Her most memorable missions included the rebuilding operations following Superstorm Sandy, Prince Harry’s visit to Harlem, and local security measures following the Boston Marathon attacks.
Grymes began her journalistic career in 2006 at News 12 Networks. She worked for News 12 The Bronx, News 12 Brooklyn, and News 12 Long Island for over seven years. Grymes not only anchors and reports, but she also shoots and edits the majority of her own stories.
At News 12, she covered a variety of topics, including Bernie Madoff’s sentencing, the Miracle on the Hudson, Pope Benedict’s visit to New York, the Nixzmary Brown murder trials, and Superstorm Sandy. Grymes formerly worked as a production assistant at Fox News Channel, where she had interned throughout college.
Grymes was born in Queens, New York, and grew up on Long Island and in Texas. When she was 16, she discovered her passion for television news while delivering the morning announcements for her high school’s television station. She and her Texas classmates delivered the news of the terrorist attacks in New York and Washington, D.C. on 9/11. That day cemented Grymes’ ambition to work in broadcast journalism.
