Ben Mulroney is a Canadian producer and a former tv host. He is also known for being the eldest son of Brian Mulroney, whose the 18th Prime Minister of Canada. Molroney had a 20-year broadcasting career with the Canadian network CTV. He began as an entertainment reporter for the station.

Mulroney left etalk in June of 2020. Mulroney left Your Morning and CTV a year later, on September 29, 2021, to pursue a career as a producer.

Mulroney had a regular column in the Toronto Sun in the late 1990s. In 2000, he began his career as an entertainment reporter as the Quebec City correspondent for The Chatroom on CTV-owned digital channel Talktv, and in July 2001, he became one of the show’s five co-hosts. He worked as an entertainment correspondent for Canada AM from 2001 to 2002. From 2003 through 2008, he was the host of Canadian Idol.

He is most known for hosting the entertainment news program etalk from 2002 until 2020, when he covered big entertainment events such as the Oscars, Golden Globes, and Juno Awards. Mulroney added radio show presenter to his resume in April 2009, with the premiere of the CHUM Radio show, etalk 20. The two-hour radio show was carried on 11 radio stations throughout Canada and featured celebrity interviews as well as a countdown of the top 20 chart-topping tunes.

He was named UNICEF Canada’s National Ambassador in 2006. Mulroney and other etalk staff covered the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games for CTV in February 2010.

Mulroney resigned as host of etalk on June 22, 2020, stating, “More than ever, we need more Black voices, more Indigenous voices, more people of color in the media as well as every other profession – and that is why I have decided to immediately step away from my role at etalk to create space for a new perspective and a new voice.” His resignation followed a scandal in which his wife was accused of harassing Sasha Exeter, a black influencer.

He was confirmed as the cohost, along with Anne-Marie Mediwake, of CTV’s new morning show Your Morning, which replaced the iconic Canada AM in June 2016. He departed the program on October 1, 2021, to “pursue other interests.”

Mulroney joined ABC News as a contributor to Good Morning America in June 2012. Former ABC News President Ben Sherwood stated that Mulroney would fill in for Dan Harris on weekends while also contributing to Good Morning America. Mulroney had previously served as a temporary co-host on Live with Kelly with Kelly Ripa.
