Paul Washer is a Southern Baptist Convention-affiliated American Protestant Christian evangelist with Calvinist theology. He relocated to Peru and worked as a missionary for ten years. Washer formed the HeartCry Missionary Society in 1988, while in Peru, to encourage local missionaries who were testifying to people of their own culture. The charity supports 238 missionary families in 41 countries as of 2017.
Washer eventually returned to the United States and has lived in Radford, Virginia, since 2010, where he continues to lead HeartCry’s missions.Washer has been associated with the New Calvinism movement, though he has expressed reservations about it.
