David Ridgen is a Canadian independent filmmaker, he is currently working at CBC Radio and is the writer and host of true-crime podcast series, Someone Knows Something.

Ridgen is an award-winning podcaster, filmmaker, and writer who specializes in hard-hitting, character-driven stories and has a strong interest in investigative reporting and narrative experimentation. His first feature drama, Memento, was released on a riverboat in Kingston, Ontario, to critical acclaim in 1996.
Ridgen received a prestigious Canadian Association of Journalists Award in 2000 for his critically acclaimed documentary On the Borders of Gardens about Palestinian refugees in Lebanon.
Return to Mississippi was a 2004 CBC Television documentary about the possibility of a trial in the case of three Mississippi Burning victims: civil rights workers Michael Schwerner, James Chaney, and Andrew Goodman.
Ridgen learned about the 1964 Klan murder of two 19-year-old African-American men, Henry Hezekiah Dee and Charles Eddie Moore, while working on Return to Mississippi. This prompted him to make his next film, Mississippi Cold Case, a documentary so compelling that Mississippi state officials reopened their investigation into the case, resulting in Klansman James Ford Seale being convicted of conspiracy and kidnapping and sentenced to three concurrent life terms.
Ridgen works alongside the families of cold-case victims to discover new leads and evidence in order to put the ghosts of the past to rest as the host, producer, and writer of CBC’s Someone Knows Something. He also contributes his investigative skills to The Next Call, a CBC podcast.
