It’s a talent he consistently highlights in his music, one that stands out on songs like the piercing “Empty Bottle,” which examines the disparities between how white and black gun violence perpetrators are depicted in the media as well as the racial prejudices of the prison industrial complex.
However, it also comes across in more personal settings, such as the poignant “Listen and Stay,” where Fem spends the first two verses trying to win over a girl before realizing how unaware of her sentiments he had been by the song’s coda.
