Jennifer Valdez is an American journalist, she is currently working at Atlanta News First as the chief meteorologist. She appears on the 4 p.m., 5 p.m., 6 p.m., and 11 p.m. weekday news. Before joining the news station she worked at WYFF in Greenville, SC. Valdez joined Atlanta News in 2008.

Valdez, who has been a meteorologist for the CBS affiliate for 14 years and was promoted to chief in 2019, said she has had colon-related illness diverticulitis dozens of times in the last 20 years. Her colon was susceptible to infection, and she would require antibiotics. “I’d end up with severe pain and fever,” she explained.
Valdez, 42, is undergoing serious surgery for the second time in less than three years. She missed several weeks of work in 2020 as a result of artificial disc replacement surgery.
