Jim Cramer is an American media personality, author and former hedge fund manager, he is known for being the host of Mad Money on CNBC and anchor for Squawk on the Street. Cramer was the co-founder of TheStreet, which he wrote for from 1996 to 2021.

Cramer left Goldman Sachs in 1987 to launch Cramer & Co., a hedge fund. The fund was run out of hedge fund manager Michael Steinhardt’s offices. Cramer received a commission of 20% of the profits he generated for raising $450 million in $5 million increments.
Cramer and Peretz founded TheStreet, a financial news and investment website, in 1996. TheMaven paid $16.5 million for the company in August 2019.
In the late 1990s, Cramer was a frequent guest analyst on CNBC. Cramer co-hosted Kudlow & Cramer with Larry Kudlow from 2002 to 2005.
CNBC’s Mad Money with Jim Cramer debuted in 2005. The show’s declared objective is to deliver “the knowledge and tools that will empower you to be a better investor” to people who do their own investing.
Until December 2006, Cramer aired a one-hour radio show called Jim Cramer’s Real Money, which spawned Mad Money.
Cramer appears as himself in two episodes of Arrested Development in 2005. He said that he had raised Bluth Company stock to a “Don’t Buy” from a “Triple Sell,” but then stated that the stock was no longer a “Don’t Buy,” but rather a “Risky.”
