Joanne Feldman is an Emmy Award-winning meteorologist. She is currently working for FOX 5 in Atlanta. Feldman was previously the WTVD as the chief meteorologist. She worked for the station for five years.

Her career in broadcasting began when she was chosen as one of two graduate students to forecast for Penn State’s daily weather magazine, “Weather World” – a show with a surprisingly large audience across Pennsylvania. She then moved to Fresno, California, to work as a weekend meteorologist at KMPH and eventually KFSN.

She quickly rose through the ranks at KFSN, becoming the news anchor for the station’s top-rated morning show. Feldman was promoted to WTVD in Raleigh/Durham, North Carolina, after a number of years honing both her broadcasting and forecasting skills. Joanne worked as the Chief Meteorologist for five years, covering tornado outbreaks, a historic ice storm, and multiple storms, including Hurricane Isabel’s landfall in 2003.

She won three Emmy Awards in Atlanta during her stay there: one for the best weathercaster in the Southeast and two for weather speciality reports. Readers of Jezebel Magazine selected her “Favorite Weathercaster in Atlanta” in 2011.

Joanne also holds the American Meteorological Society’s renowned Certified Broadcast Meteorologist accreditation. It is the greatest honor bestowed upon broadcasters who have demonstrated scientific competence and completed a demanding exam.

 Hurricane Zeta is making landfall near Cocodrie, Louisiana as a powerful Catagory 2 storm, according to Hurricane Hunter aircraft Wednesday afternoon. The storm is expected to push inland and begin to start impacting Georgia within the next few hours. North Georgia continues to be under a Tropical Storm Warning as Hurricane Zeta intensifies into a Category 2 storm.
