Before leaving the BBC in May 2014 to become the station’s drive-time host in Lancashire, he spent the next 18 months working part-time at Rock FM.
He started out in 2014 as a freelance cover presenter for various BBC Radio 1 shows. In September 2017, he was chosen as one of many fresh voices to fill in for Matt Edmondson, and in early 2018, he was introduced as the new host of the station’s Greatest Hits show, which airs on Sunday mornings.
With a friend and etiquette expert William Hanson, North has co-hosted the comic agony aunt podcast Help I Sexted My Boss since March 2018. The goal of the program is to provide listeners with guidance when they run across contemporary issues. The podcast, which is presently in its ninth series, was nominated for the British Podcast Awards 2020’s ‘Best Entertainment Podcast’.
