In 2007, Kate started a career in yachting. She had initially merely intended to use her “gap year” following college graduation to work on boats, but as soon as she began her first job as a third stewardess aboard a yacht, she fell in love with the fascinating field. Kate worked her way through the ranks while touring the Caribbean, Mediterranean, Central America, and New England before becoming the Chief Stewardess.
After a few years of travels abroad and glitzy visitors, Kate started collecting her tales from the water in the hope that one day she would be able to share them with everyone. Her book Lucky Charming, which was released in 2016, had those tales and swiftly rose to the top of Amazon’s humor best sellers list.
Chastain joined the main Below Deck series in Season 2, and since then, she has been a part of many memorable moments, solidifying her status as a beloved cast member.
Following her departure from Below Deck, Kate went on to work as an Executive Producer and one of the co-hosts on Bravo’s Chat Room. She has also made several cameos on Below Deck Galley Talk.
