Kathryn Tappen is one of NBC Sports’ most versatile hosts and reporters, having hosted or reported on many of sports’ biggest events, including the Olympics, Super Bowl, NFL Kickoff, Stanley Cup Playoffs and Final, Notre Dame Football, and golf.
Tappen anchors NBC Sports’ Notre Dame Football coverage as well as the Peacock Sunday Night Football Final, an NFL post-game show on NBCUniversal’s streaming service. Tappen’s duties expanded to include lead interviewer for NBC Sports’ golf coverage of the PGA TOUR and major championships at the start of the 2022 calendar season.
Tappen worked as a sideline reporter for four NBC Sunday Night Football games in 2021, as well as the Rams-Buccaneers NFL Divisional Playoff Game and the Raiders-Bengals Wild Card Game. Tappen has also worked three Super Bowls and five Olympics during her time at NBC Sports. From 2014 to 2021, Tappen hosted NBC Sports’ NHL coverage. Tappen anchored studio coverage as part of an all-female crew in March 2020, marking the first NHL game broadcast and produced entirely by women in the United States.
Tappen received the “Woman of Inspiration” award from the WISE Boston chapter in 2014. Her sports feature reporting has also earned her two Boston/New England Emmy nominations from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. Tappen also won an Associated Press award for her sports feature “Swim Meet” in 2006.
Tappen is a Board Member of the Marine Raider Foundation, a foster home volunteer for the Guide Dog Foundation, and an Ambassador for America’s VetDogs in addition to her work on the air.

In late December, the former NHL star was suspended indefinitely after making sexually suggestive comments about coworkers on a podcast.
Roenick confirmed reports that he will not be returning to the network with a video captioned “What a Joke!!” on Twitter.
“I’m very disappointed and angry today I will not be returning to NBC,” Roenick said.
“And though disappointed, I’m also grateful that I’ve had the opportunity to share my love, my passion and my knowledge of the game with millions of people, millions of fans, and for that I thank you.”
