She met Dan Dotson, who would later become her husband, in 1996. She later joined Dan’s business and is now co-owner and manager of American Auctioneers. In 1983, Dan Dotson founded American Auctioneers.
American Auctioneers specializes in storage unit auctions, estate auctions, business inventories and equipment, as well as legal/foreclosure auctions, fundraisers, and appraisals. Dotson holds two auctions per day, six days per week.
Laura has been in the spotlight for quite some time and earned every second of it. On the show, Dan’s auction chant uses slurred multi-syllabic filler that is rattled out very quickly, whereas her auction chant uses more distinct filler words and thus sounds slower than her husband’s.
Her participation in Storage Wars has resulted in her being featured in a number of news articles, including The Washington Post, USA Today, and TMZ. According to Examiner.com, “Thom Beers came up with the idea for Storage Wars, but Dan and Laura Dotson inspired it.”
