In 2002, Edmondson worked as a traveling reporter for Channel 4’s Richard & Judy. From 2004 to 2006, he was a continuity presenter for CBBC. For ITV2, Edmondson co-hosted the 2008 Isle of Wight Festival coverage. Additionally, he offered commentary and connections for MTV’s coverage of the 2008 MTV Europe Music Awards. For BBC One Scotland, BBC Two Scotland, and BBC Three, he delivered dispatches from T in the Park 2009.
From 2010 to 2011, Edmondson hosted Freshly Squeezed on Channel 4 and delivered voiceovers for 4Music. Highlights from The Great Escape Festival and the Topman CTRL Student Tour were featured by Edmondson on Channel 4 in May 2010.
On June 27, 2016, it was revealed that Edmondson and Rylan Clark-Neal would present The Xtra Factor Live on ITV2. On August 27, 2016, the show debuted and was live-streamed from The Hospital Club. It was cancelled in January 2017.
Edmondson began reporting on entertainment news and celebrity rumors on Fearne Cotton’s broadcast every Friday after joining BBC Radio 1 on January 8th, 2010. He made his debut on Cotton’s show on January 15, 2010. On March 14, 2010, Edmondson took over as the regular host of BBC Radio 1’s Sunday 10 am–1 pm slot while Sara Cox was on maternity leave.
On April 6, 2011, Edmondson began hosting a weekly program on BBC Radio 1 in Huw Stephens’ place from 9 to 10 p.m. on Wednesdays. Before switching to weekends in January 2013, he did, however, give his final Wednesday night program on December 19, taking over Vernon Kay’s Saturday 10 am–1 pm position and Sara Cox’s Sunday 10 am–1 pm slot.
