Matt Shirvington is an Australian athlete and media personality, he is known for holding the 100m national sprint title from 1998 to 2002. He presents on Sunrise the breakfast on the Seven Network.

Shirvington typically participated in the 100-, 200-, and 4 × 100-meter relays, although she found the 100-meter sprint to be her strongest event. He participated in the Commonwealth Games in 1998 and 2006, the Athletics World Championships from 1999 to 2007, and the Olympic Games in 2000.
Shirvington won five straight 100-meter sprint Australian national championships starting in 1998. He broke the Australian national 100-meter record at the Kuala Lumpur 1998 Commonwealth Games, coming in fourth with a time of 10.03 seconds. Shirvington had the record up until 2003, when Patrick Johnson set a time of 9.93 seconds.

Shirvington replaced Jim Wilson as the weekend sports anchor on Seven News Sydney when he joined the Seven Network in July 2020. On Sunrise, Weekend Sunrise, and The Morning Show, he also filled in as the host and the sports presenter.
Shirvington began hosting the competition series Holey Moley on February 1 and the competition series Ultimate Tag on March 7 of the same year.
Shirvington will take over for longtime host Mike Whitney as the host of Sydney Weekender, according to a January 2022 announcement from Seven Network. He was on the commentary crew for the network’s coverage of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games in July of that year.
Sam Mac would take over as presenter of Sydney Weekender in place of Shirvington, the Seven Network announced in January 2023. Shirvington departed the program in order to focus on his expanding Seven News and Seven Sport obligations.
Shirvington began working as a sports presenter for Sky News Australia in June 2010. When Matt was named the new host of Fox Sports’ NRL coverage in 2013, he also became a co-host of The Back Page. He and Shaynna Blaze co-hosted the ASTRA Awards in 2014. Shirvington has previously hosted Fox League’s Friday Night Football.
