Mia Gradney is an Emmy Award-winning anchor at Houston’s KHOU 11 News at 5, 6, and 10 p.m. Mia worked as an anchor and reporter for Houston’s CW 39 for over a decade, providing reports for the local station and station group. She began her career in television as a writer and production assistant in Houston. Mia began her on-air career in Victoria and Beaumont before returning to her hometown of Houston to anchor, report, and produce special programming and news.
Despite the flooding and evacuation of KHOU 11’s building, she navigated Houstonians through one of our nation’s most catastrophic natural disasters, Hurricane Harvey, with nearly 138 nonstop hours of airtime. The coverage of breaking news was later recognized with an Edward R. Murrow Award.
Mia traveled to Los Angeles for Game 6 of the 2017 World Series to report on her hometown Houston Astros’ historic quest to become World Champions. She has also field-anchored two Houston Super Bowls, both live from NRG Stadium: Super Bowl XXXVII and Super Bowl LI.
Other professional honors and awards include two half-hour magazine special programs, an environmental series, and coverage of special events. Mia has also been nominated for Lone Star Emmys for a special medical report and a half-hour employment special.
