Molly Grantham is an American journalist, she is currently working at WBTV as a news anchor. She anchors the News at 5:00pm, 5:30pm, and solo at 11pm.

Molly is a two-time EMMY Award-winning journalist who has been named TV News Reporter of the Year for both Carolinas, one of Mecklenburg County’s “50 Most Influential Women,” and Charlotte Magazine’s Charlottean of the Year in 2020. She anchors WBTV News at 5:00 p.m., 5:30 p.m., and 11 p.m. She published her second book last year in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, is a social media leader, and is very involved in the Charlotte community.
Molly has covered gangs, terrorism, and the fight to legalize cannabis oil in North Carolina since arriving in Charlotte as a reporter in 2003. She is also well-known for #MollysKids, a charity that helps children facing difficult medical challenges. Molly follows the stories of over 100 children each year, connecting them, raising awareness, and raising funds for pediatric illnesses and research.
Small Victories: The Off-Camera Life of an On-Camera Mom, her first book, sold out in its first week on Amazon. It’s a funny, true-life account of juggling too many balls. A perfect prelude to her second book, The Juggle is Real, which will be released in May 2020 and encourages women to laugh through flaws and sometimes drop balls in the air.
Molly gave a TedxCharlotte Talk titled “The Real We Are” in 2018 about stereotypes about women and image. It was well-received, in part because it wasn’t something you’d expect a television news anchor to tackle, given how visual and harshly judged her job is.
Molly’s family has been devastated by cancer. Her grandfather passed away from pancreatic cancer. Her mother died from breast cancer in 2017, and her father, whom she refers to as her “forever hero,” died from colon cancer in 2006. Her grandmother had breast cancer, and her great-grandmother died from it.
